Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
By using Wordhoard, you agree to these terms.
Service
Wordhoard provides a free, browser-based name and passphrase generator. All generation happens in your browser; we do not store, transmit, or have any record of the values you generate.
No warranty
Wordhoard is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that generated passphrases are unique to you (passphrases are random; collisions, while astronomically unlikely, are theoretically possible), that the entropy estimate accounts for every possible attack vector, or that the site will be available at any particular time.
For passwords protecting truly sensitive accounts (banking, identity, work systems), use a dedicated password manager that generates and stores credentials. Wordhoard is a generator, not a vault.
Acceptable use
You may use generated names and passphrases for any lawful purpose. You may not:
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, or attack this site
- Scrape the site at a rate that could affect other users (the source code is open; clone it instead)
- Use generated content to misrepresent yourself in ways that violate other laws
Intellectual property
The word banks in this site are derived from public-domain sources (Old Norse sagas, Beowulf, Latin and Greek classical texts, the Arthurian cycle pre-1928). Generated names that coincidentally match real or fictional characters are coincidence — the underlying word lists do not contain any trademarked or copyrighted names.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wordhoard's operators are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site, including any loss resulting from a passphrase being weaker than expected for your particular use case.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
